SELKNAM KNIFE
OVERVIEW
The Selknam Knife honors the aboriginal inhabitants of “Tierra del Fuego” in the extreme south of Chile. Extinguished between the 19th and 20th centuries, they were skilled hunters, fishers, and nomadic land collectors of great size and strength.
The Selknam Knife has a full tang blade with convex edge. The back of the spine has a finger grip for use during controlled cuts. It has a Condor Classic finish and a “Coconut Breaker” for breaking or crushing elements. The back of the handle has a notch for use as a “Bowdrill” and a scraper for starting fire with ferrocerium rods, thanks to its 90° steel cut.
