The colors draw inspiration from the sandstone’s light, natural tone meeting the classic Dala red – a tribute to Morakniv’s heritage and origin. 

Color of the Year – a celebrated concept since 2016

Since 2016, Morakniv’s Color of the Year concept has given our most iconic models a personal touch. In a world driven by function and color codes, these editions stand for individuality and identity – where color becomes a way to express both style and purpose. 

The color choices are inspired by Dalarna and our roots in Mora, as a tribute to the craftsmanship, nature, and people that have shaped our history. 

The 2026 Colors: Orsa Sandstone and Dala Red

This year’s colors, Orsa Sandstone and Dala Red, are inspired by the pink-tinted sandstone of Orsa, which for over a thousand years has sharpened tools and shaped craftsmanship. The light, natural tone of the sandstone meets the classic Dala red in a color combination that captures the essence of Morakniv – where tradition meets innovation, and every new knife carries a piece of Dalarna.

Eldris Color of the Year 2026 (S) is a small outdoor knife made of Swedish stainless steel with a ferro rod compatible spine. Easy to carry, it’s just as useful for everyday tasks as for carving, cutting branches, and making fire – now available in Dala Red and Orsa Sandstone.
